What is the difference between cotton and organic cotton?
Cotton farming uses genetically modified seeds alongside harmful chemical pesticides to generate a larger crop. Organic cotton farming forbids the use of these genetic modifications and synthetic chemical fertilisers and pesticides. As a result, organic cotton is more sustainable and less harmful to the environment. Organic cotton is generally much higher quality than regular cotton, offering a long lasting durability and a softer feel. We highly recommend investing in organic cotton activewear and choosing responsibly sourced yoga clothing.
Is organic cotton better for you?
Organic cotton has a much softer feel than non-organic cotton. Additionally, since it doesn't use harmful pesticides or chemicals to grow or be processed, it is kinder to your skin. Organic clothing also offers more durability, so it's better for your bank account too, as a well made piece can last many years.
Will organic cotton shrink?
Organic cotton is not prone to shrinking, but since it is not treated you might find that it shrink up to 10% when washed or dried at a very high temperature. To avoid any shrinking occuring, dry your organic cotton yoga clothing outside where possible, or on a low temperature.
