Audrey Quote

“They talk about “body language,” as if we all speak it the same. But everyone has their own dialect. For me right now, for example, swiveling my body right away and staring rigidly at the corner means, “I like you.” Because I didn’t run away and shut myself in the bathroom. I just hope he realizes that.”

Review #19

Reading this book was more or less an accident. Yesterday I was on the first page of All The Bright Places when I left to go to the library to pick up another book I had put on hold. Well, I left All The Bright Places on my bed and I ended up staying at the library for longer than expected, so I started to read the book that I was picking up, Finding Audrey. Without even meaning to, I forgot All The Bright Places temporarily and finished this book in roughly two hours. So… I’ll write a review for it now.

Sophie Kinsella’s novel Finding Audrey was a very uplifting story of a teen girl struggling with a Social Anxiety Disorder, but it also managed to be light, comical, and cutely romantic. I really enjoyed Audrey’s family. Felix is absolutely adorable! The dynamics between Frank and Audrey’s mom were hysterical and realistic, and the computer being thrown out of the window was so great. The blooming romance between Linus and Audrey was one of my favorite parts, especially since I was able to literally track her progress based on the time she had spent with him (Love heals!). If I’m honest, it was a little dissapointed that Sophie Kinsella didn’t reveal more details on what exactly Audrey’s “incident” was, but I can understand her maybe wanting to keep that a mystery.

Overall, this book was super enjoyable and funny! Thank you Sophie Kinsella! Also, here is my would-have-been Currently Reading pic:

P.S.- Aren’t the covers awesome? I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but sunny yellow and teal are so good together.
