City of Bones

I tried. I really did. I made an honest effort to finish this book for the second time and continue with the series but I just couldn’t. It’s really just not my type of reading and to force myself through every single book in the Mortal Instruments would have been pretty close to torture. Sooo, sorry Cassandra Clare, you did GREAT with the Infernal Devices but not so much with this series in my opinion. Still love ya.

So since I really didn’t love this book I won’t be writing a review for it. I mean, if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all, right? Yeah. I’m sorry if this sounds sort of harsh, but I’m always honest about books.

I’ve decided to give Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments Series another chance. A few years ago I read City of Bones with a book club I was apart of and I really did not enjoy it. But considering how much I loved her Infernal Devices Trilogy I’m going to try again and hope for the best. Ya never know, I might end up liking it.

Review #10

There are few things in life that are perfect, in my opinion. But there are the things that are so beautifully imperfect that they are exactly as they should be. This book has managed to attain that sense of perfection (along with Antonin Dvorak’s symphonies, sunsets, and love). Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare was the most wonderful conclusion to the trilogy that anyone could have asked for. This novel was full of fear, loss, heartbreak, sacrifice, honor, bravery, friendship, family, and most importantly; love. It never ceased to add more and more to the fascinating world of Shadowhunters. Never before has a story ended so excellently and left me thinking about the characters days after I’ve finished it. The minute I read the last page I started the book again so I could re-live it. Now, this is not my favorite book or series, although I LOVE it, I just want to declare it’s stunning sense of glory. Will, Tessa, and Jem are my OTLT (One True Love Triangle [I just made that up]) and I ship them to the stars and back.

Right now I am reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I read her first two installments in the Infernal Devices Trilogy but I never could find the third in the library. I’ve been hunting it down for almost a year now, but I finally have it! YAY
