Review #28

Othello by William Shakespeare is one of his most compelling tragedies, saturated with evil and injustice. Iago is pure malevolence, and as he slowly unwinds the lives of his fellow characters it’s hard to stop reading. Desdemona is graceful, patient, and loyal, and undeserving of the murderous death that befell her, but I was glad when she died. All the actions of the play were leading up to Othello killing her, and it was a relief for it to be done. Shakespeare has once again created a tale full of love, heartbreak, and deceit that will never be forgotten.

Review #27

Angels on Earth by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski was a beautiful compilation of true stories that teach, reach, and soften your heart in ways you’ve never appreciated before. I loved Laura’s own additions to the stories people shared with her, and how she tied it all to her own experiences with an angel on earth named Maurice.

The angels that Laura introduce are inspiring. They remind us what kindness really is; what connections really are. Although this book may not be a thrilling sci-fi, gushy romance, or YA novel, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an extra smile in their day. Thank you Laura and Alex! You created an amazing book.
