Dissapointment

Okay: I have to rant…

Colleen Houck, although I ADORE her, has really let me (and probably many others) down. On her blog she admitted that Tiger’s Dream has been put on the ‘back-burner’ while she continues with her new series. I don’t agree with this irresponsibility. She made a commitment to her fans by promising a book in 2014, and yet here we are in 2016 and it still hasn’t been released. And not only that, but we haven’t heard much about the book or it’s progress in months. In my opinion this entire ordeal is very unprofessional. Yes, I TOTALLY understand when authors are swamped with other aspects of their life and they just don’t have the time to write, but Mrs. Houck obviously has the time because she has written two entire books since the time when she mentioned Tiger’s Dream. It also would have been understandable if Mrs. Houck had just been considering the idea of another book while not actually writing it, but she put a sneak peak in the back of a prequel she published (Tiger’s Promise). This led many people to believe that she had already started some of the newest novel and that it would be done soon.

So I don’t know. Maybe I am overreacting. Please don’t think that I am shaming Mrs. Houck in any way, I think she is AMAZING, I am just a little disappointed with how things have played out with her book releases lately.

New Book!

My favorite author (KIERA CASS) put on her blog that the book The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton is good. So now I am dying to read it. Plus the cover is really interesting and I tend to partly judge books by their covers (I know, I know, that’s totally taboo)… I even will admit that is how I found the Selection Series *GASP*.But, I mean, who doesn’t love the gorgeous ball gowns on every cover?

Currently Reading

The next book I will be diving into is Looking for Alaska by John Green. I’ve already read this twice before but I can’t help but doing it again. (I might have a problem when it comes to re-reading things…). Nevertheless, I am SUPER excited for this novel! This is definitely the type of book that you sit down to read and then don’t get up until the very last page.

Review #2

Same Difference.

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed after reading this for a second time. Wow… I mean WOW Siobhan Vivian. At first this story seemed bland yet mildly interesting, but this time I really soaked up the message. Not only that, I was able to almost perfectly line it up with things happening in my life. It’s sort of a scary experience when a random book seems to map out everything that is happening to you. I really relate to the character Emily and I had a long car ride after reading this book to think about some things I should probably apologize for. As it so happens, I also love art but I’m really inexperienced, just like Emily. I found myself falling for Yates; a sweet and charming character that had me rooting for him from the start, and I really pitied Fiona. Siobhan portrayed her as so confident, yet underneath all of her fierce attitude was an insecure girl who was scrambling for some talent that she knew she had. I loved it. This book seems ordinary at first glance, but it’s so insightful and incisive once you really stop to think about it. The ending, although it wasn’t sad, made me cry. Everything worked out and Emily started new. It was perfect. Thank you Siobhan Vivian for writing this novel! It deserves much more attention!
